Hollywood Reporter is reporting that James Gunn (Super) is the current front-runner to direct the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Peyton Reed (Yes Man) and the duo of Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden (It's Kind of a Funny Story) are also being considered as well.

Very unimpressive, although they haven't picked a bad director yet.

James Gunn seems like an odd choice, but I think he'd be a perfect fit for the movie. I really like Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, too, It's Kind of a Funny Story and Half Nelson are great films. I don't know if they'd be a good fit for GotG though, they're more about character driven drama. I guess this is where I just have to hope for the best. Either way, I'm incredibly pumped for this movie.

These people have all directed mostly comedy movies. That is not a good sign....

If this movie is good, I'll make dozens of Thor and Wonder Woman hate threads. This will not be good. The only thing that could make it semi-watchable would be if people like the Supreme Intelligence and Captain Mar-vell was in it.

I'd like to see J.J. Abrams direct the film. He's done wonders in the Sci-Fi genre with the Star Trek reboot and Super 8.
