    At it's core, Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't really have one. It's a means of introducing random characters who have nothing to do with the Marvel Universe into it with wild and ridiculous reasoning and to have flat, mind numbing action scenes and catch phrases thrown around. None of the characters are terribly interesting or deep, and, with Groot seemingly taking a back seat, I found myself caring little for most of the characters.
