This series took a bad turn. I was not sold on it from the first issue and it had two directions to go. Unfortunately it went down hill instead of up. From the start Dabney Donovan had the entire lead staff of Project Cadmus including the Guardian all imprison by perhaps about a hundred of his own clones. The clones were....get this....clowns with fuses on their heads and killer balloons that change words on themselves to mock their victims. No really, Exploding clowns and killer balloons.

Meanwhile the Newsboy Legion go up against the Female Furies and other New Gods with Boss Moxie at their side and of course the defeat them all and make them look stupid. How can I take any of these villains seriously after this? All threats were completely defeated and routed by the old and new Newsboy Legion. Darkseid's finest defeated by non powered scientists and children.

The more I write about the book the more ticked I get that I paid money for it. I only gave it one star but you would really have to love the Guardian or the Newsboy Legion to enjoy it. All of this said the art was alright. I have to give them some credit there. I hate giving bad reviews but the book gave me no choice.
