    Short summary describing this volume.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

This is Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer's first appearance in his own series, after appearing shortly in Starslayer #5, and Destroyer Duck #1.

Groo has a new humorous (and highly destructive) adventure in each issue, in his search for work, food, and cheese dip.

There's a few recurring characters such as the villain Taranto, and the female warrior Chakaal, but the story lines in each issue stand alone, as he fights for and around boats, caravans, fortresses, wizards, towns, lizardmen and girls, with his innocent bad luck and his samurai swords.

'The Sage' also makes appearances in short stories after the (hilarious) letters pages in the first 6 issues, dispensing his special brand of wisdom to people he meets, in various situations.

Written by Sergio, 'decrypted' by Mark Evanier, lettered by Stan Sakai, coloured by Gordon Kent for the first few issues, and then by Tom Luth.
