As with many prequels this series has its work cut out for it as it is starting out from the point that the reader will know everything that is following (assuming they read the other Wonderland series.) The one benefit that this issue does have going for it is the somewhat ambiguous story in the previous Alice one-shot which leaves this as a good place to answer some of the lingering questions that were left there.
