The Grey Ghost, according to Batman the Animated series, was a television character and vigilante that Bruce Wayne watched as a child and may have been an inspiration for the Batman mantle.
In an episode of the Animated Series, Batman meets the once "Grey Ghost" in order to uncover clues leading to a terrorist that apparently used the old Grey Ghost cartoon character idea and replicated the gadgets he used on the television show.
Batman seeks the assistance of the real life Grey Ghost in order to uncover the identity of the man who set him up.
The Grey Ghost was voiced by Adam West.
