Trailer For Greg Rucka's Whiteout With Kate Beckinsale

Posted by G-Man (25935 posts) - 3 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

Here's a movie I can't wait for.  You're familiar with Greg Rucka but you might have missed his Whiteout comics.  Drawn by Steve Lieber, they were published by Oni Press.  You can find the trades.  As the movie gets closer, it should be even easier to find.  The basic story is US Marshall, Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) has to track down a serial killer in the Arctic.

Here is the trailer.

Who wants to take a trip to Antarctica?

The trailer did more harm than good for me. And why didn't Kate have any lines?

We get it, it's cold. I don't really know how I feel about a movie where Kate Beckinsale has to wear alot of clothes all the time, Thats right I said it.

This looks awesome. Somebody sign Kate Beckinsale up for  a Wonder Woman movie and I'll die very happy ; )

Kate Beckinsale could grow out her armpit hair and dress up like a Clown and so long as she took a bath every now and then she'd STILL be hot.

And on a further note, when a trailer is reduced to snippets of indistinguishable action and the ONLY line uttered is "This isnt just a murder. This is the first murder in Antartica." ...lol..c'mon?

wait a minute!!!!  how the heck is Kate Beckinsale going to wear any skin tight leather outfits if it's 100 degrees below zero?!?!?!?!

Not a big fan of a trailer that comes with narration. Drop the voice-over track, and the trailer works. It does have a the whole "The Thing" and X-Files vibe going. I've never read Rucka's Whiteout. Is it straight-forward crime - like Road to Perdition or is it supernatural? Not sure if I'd see this in the theatre or not...

Does anyone know who does the narration? His voice is really familiar but I can't quite figure it out.

Thanks for the mention! A lot of sites don't take the time to drop in Greg's or my name. Anyhow, I should note that as far as I know, this isn't the official trailer- just a teaser that they made for showing at Comicon a while back. Greg's saying that the real trailer's due to come out with Orphan in July. And for those of you who were asking what Whiteout is about, you can read a big chunk of the comic for free online.
