so as i was reading JLA #57 today, i came across an add that made me do a double take.

The Newton & District Astronomers Guild. At a glance, it seems like a simple awareness add, with a short bio and  an internet address.
...but as i looked at it, little things jumped out at me. The color schemes. the shapes of the icons and heading letters. and then, more obviously, the Metropolis Astronomy Society and Gotham Amateur Astronomy Foundation logos in the bottom right corner. the mention of a Dr. Amanda Waller.
once i got home, i checked the link out. And as i had guessed, it was a viral marketing campaign for the new Green Lantern movie.
The campaign is pretty discrete. It's story is that a group of amateur  star gazers who notice an anomaly while studying the Milky Way, and are determined to find out what it is. There are links to pages both pre-existing and fabricated  ( Writing on the Wall) for the ad. And eventually there is a pretty blatant add with a GL symbol that leads you to a Green Lantern Minigame.

all in all, i thought this was a pretty awesome little add. More subtle than the Dark Knight virals, but just as much a nod to the fans. did anyone else notice or know about this?

That's cool! I saw this before, but I never noticed the Gotham and Metropolis references on it, thanks for pointing it out!
