In green lantern issue #26 they are going to be introducing the alpha lanterns, i was wondering if any one on the vine knew something about it.
Concept » Green Lantern appears in 1691 issues.
unfortunately, the Alpha Lantern project is still pretty hush hush...
it's going to come to a head in GREEN LANTERN #26 so you don't have long to wait...
heres the official blurb...
Setting the stage for the Green Lanterns' role in FINAL CRISIS comes Part 1 of "The Alpha Lanterns," a new story arc written by Geoff Johns with art by Mike McKone (TEEN TITANS)! Who are the Alpha-Lanterns? What bizarre cosmic surgery have they undergone? And how will they affect the future of the Green Lantern Corps?
In the aftermath of the Sinestro Corps War, the Green Lanterns are undergoing an unprecedented reconstruction and reinvention, and the controversial Alpha-Lantern project is in full effect.
the general consensus is that The Alpha Lanterns will have something to do with Ion... The guardians all said the he was the evolution of the Green Lanterns, so maybe the Alpha Lanterns will be more of an "Ion Corps"...
again, purely speculation on my side there... all we do know is that it has something to do with the Green Lantern corps, so it isn't another colour to add to the rainbow of corps we have at the moment.
if i find out anything more, i'll post it here first
M
what i found so far was something to do with the guardians surgically making the corps members into power batteries, that didn't sound like anything the guardians would do though it sounds more like what the controllers did to effigy.
Well what I also know is that in this storyarc you'll find about the new rules the guardians have written in the book of oa
The build-up to FINAL CRISIS continues in Part 2 of "The Alpha Lanterns"! In the aftermath of the Sinestro Corps War, a select few have been chosen to undergo a transformation that will leave them forever altered and forever committed to the Green Lantern Corps. But what other laws are the Guardians unleashing, and why do Hal Jordan and John Stewart want to stop them? Plus, a visit to Oa's Death Row!

"it looks pretty bad A$$.so they are making the lanterns into a power battery? lol that should give a power boost. "
the Alpha Lantern project is giving me a headache...
i'm not sure what they're doing, only that it has something to do with John Stewart

Methos says:

if you look at her chest it looks like she is the battery lol.
yeah it says that Hal and john are apposed to either the alpha lanterns or the 10 laws.
First off, who is that in your Av Ace? That guy looks awesome.
Second, in GLC#19, Salaak takes the rings from the 442 dead Lanterns and forms 12 from them. These will be given to the Alpha Lanterns I think.

thats what i thought... but then shouldn't the Ion power do that for him?
as far as i understood it, the Ion power was capable of everything the GL ring was and more...
so why can the ring protect him from lead and the Ion power can't?
M
Yat only uses/needs the ring to defend against the lead poisoning he got from Prime.
Your guess is as good as mine buddy. I justify it as the ring is only functioning to stop the spread of the lead poisoning so the Ion power doesn't have to allot any energy to doing it. shrugs thats about the only thing I can think of.
Well as long as it stays in Yat from here on out I'm fine with it. I don't want to see that whale again.
lol i'll agree with that :D
i'm now wondering if the four main Green Lanterns from earth, Hal, Kyle, John and Guy, who have all shown more allegiance to Ganthet than to The Guardians in general, will actually follow Ganthet over and become Blue Lanterns instead...

Doubt it. Maybe one might, but I can't see them all switching. It would be something if they did though.
I hope not. Ganthet did say they would assist the Earthmen tho.
Sayd must be a fan of Homer Simpson eh?

The picture of the light war shows all four of them (as well as Kilowog and what appears to be Natu in a slightly more revealing costume) in green.
I was thinking of this personally....

...which is actually more revealing.
The one thing I don't like about EVS drawings are the jaw lines. Every human type person has a box for a jaw, its one thing for men, but for women too? How many chicks have square jaws like that?
acewasp23 says:
"Copy says:"They look like robots to me."what women? you sure your not a Violet Lantern? "
I'M SURE. If I'm a woman why do I stand up when I go to the bathroom? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? lol
But seriously the alpha lanterns do look like robots.
