Last week we heard the news that Geoff Johns was leaving GREEN LANTERN after nine years. As you may have heard, he's not the only one leaving. In fact, the entire line of Green Lantern family titles are seeing some changes with writers and artists. There's been speculation (and some fear) over who would be doing the honors. Now we have some answers.

MTV GEEK had the exclusive reveal on the new creative teams.

Are you ready for this?

GREEN LANTERN

Robert Venditti and Billy Tan

GREEN LANTERN CORPS

Joshua Hale Fialkov and Bernard Chang

GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS

Justin Jordan and Brad Walker

RED LANTERNS

Joshua Hale Fialkov and Alessandro Vitti

LARFLEEZE

Keith Giffen and Scott Kolins

This is quite the change. We'll have to see how it all goes. Of course the big test (for me) will be seeing what Fialkov does with RED LANTERNS (a title I really want to like).

DC putting faith into the Vendittis, Fialkovs and Jordans of the world is a very, very good sign.

Wow now I have to pick all of these up! Bummed to see Mahnke isn't staying on GL though :(

They got Billy Tan for Green Lantern...SOLD!

#4 Posted by impossibilly (886 posts) - - Show Bio

Billy Tan on art is enough to make me drop Green Lantern. If Venditti sticks around longer than Tan, maybe I'll jump back on board with the next artist.

Whoa, Robert Venditti. Nice.

#6 Posted by UltimateSMfan (1416 posts) - - Show Bio

Woah!

#7 Posted by MeloDet (48 posts) - - Show Bio

I suppose it's understandable why Venditti is no longer on Constantine then.

JHF on Red Lanterns??? hmmm Im suddenly interested

#11 Posted by crevicekid (12 posts) - - Show Bio

Larfleeze? Yet another comic to subscribe to. I guess this will continue from the backup in Threshold?

#12 Posted by Gambit1024 (9890 posts) - - Show Bio

Give it to me straight. Should I be happy about Justin Jordan on New Guardians?

#13 Posted by nappystr8 (1105 posts) - - Show Bio

These changes seem really well thought out. Doubt I'll be reading any of them, but they sound high quality. If I come into some money by the summer, I might look into picking up Red Lanterns again under Fialkov. I really wanted Red Lanterns to be good, and now maybe it will be.

I don't really know these creators so it's hard to say. But after a quick google search of Billy Tan, I like his work with Marvel.

But Larfleeze? Really? John Stewart and Guy Gardner are still sharing a title and they're giving Larfleeze his own series?

#15 Posted by TeamUnitedNerds (402 posts) - - Show Bio

Larfleeze is getting his own comic? Intriguing. Keith is a pretty talented writer. I shall see where this goes.

I hope so, those backups are brilliant!

I gotta say it's a good line up.Venditti,Joshua Hale Fialkov,Justin Jordan and Bernard Chang....I love their work

This makes me feel much more confident about DC recent cancellations of I,Vampire, Team 7, and Deathstroke and the creative team reshuffle on Constantine. The Larfleeze announcement has me worried about the longevity of Threshold though. The $3.99 price point is a death sentence for Dark and Edge series.

Will see were this goes.

Already better than the previous teams.

I really don't see Larfleeze doing well on his own, but hey, who knows.

#22 Posted by G-Man (33891 posts) - - Show Bio

I don't know if I made it clear in the post, I might've forgotten. I'm happy with all of this.

Might begin to care about Green Lantern again now. Been under the taint of Johns for too long.

To the hopefully bright future.

#30 Posted by Azrael66 (277 posts) - - Show Bio

Amazing changes. Red Lanterns is going to get realll interesting.

Sounds good, cant wait for more info.

I hope Hal stays around even if he ends up in a smaller role.

I'm buying Threshold, but if I'm honest the highlight is definitely the Larfleeze back-up. It's what really sold the book to me, and what made me pick up a second issue. I worry about Threshold's longevity unless it can find another equally interesting and humorous character to feature in its back-ups.

So how long will kyle keep his power up this time?

#38 Posted by k4tzm4n (43285 posts) - - Show Bio

Robert Venditti is doing marvelous work over on X-O.  He's definitely a good pick.

So does this mean a new status quo for the whole GL line? I have never read a Green Lantern comic and I'm interested in the main GL book and GL Corps.

Would be nice to start a fresh story with not too much prior knowledge needed!

#40 Posted by TDK_1997 (14891 posts) - - Show Bio

I think that Billy Tan is not that good of a choice for an artist for Green Lantern.

#41 Posted by CrashBang (120 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm definitely stoked on JHF doing Corps and Red Lanterns! I'll start picking Red Lanterns up again once he's on board. Still sad to see I, Vampire go, though.

I've never read any of Venditti's work but I've heard only good things about X-O so I'm pretty stoked!

#42 Posted by Smart_Dork_Dude (2638 posts) - - Show Bio

Is that Kyle as a White Lantern?!

#43 Posted by Grey56 (751 posts) - - Show Bio

Hrm, not truly moving the needle for me - however I do hope folks will be happy. DC should be more than aware that this property is a gold mine and would be best kept at optimum stock talent.

#44 Edited by jwalser3 (4995 posts) - - Show Bio

Good, Red Lanterns needs a new writer.

#45 Posted by The_Tree (7447 posts) - - Show Bio

Larfleeze with Keith Giffen? Sign me up.

#46 Posted by Zeeguy91 (1109 posts) - - Show Bio

Its still sad to see Geoff Johns go, but Venditti is a very capable writer. I have been enjoying his Demon Knights so far and I've heard nothing but good things about his X-O Manowar.

What happened with Doug Mahnke?

#48 Posted by xtremekidx (576 posts) - - Show Bio

robert venditti?haven't read much from him.....anybody tell me how good he is?

anyway, loving the new teams and would definitely check them all out :)

#49 Posted by Lvenger (19836 posts) - - Show Bio

Wait who's Robert Venditti? What are his credentials? In any case Fialkov on GLC and Red Lanterns with Jordan on New Guardians and Giffen writing Larfleeze is excellent news for the GLC as a whole. Johns may have done a good job setting up the GL universe but his replacements sound pretty interesting. Can't wait for more info!

Larfleeze..... getting his own series....

ALL OF MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE.

I honestly never thought I'd see the day.
