Can't we have both?
Concept » Green Lantern appears in 2504 issues.

I would love to help support Green Lantern and Young Justice if they would just release bluray sets. I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to watch in full hd rather than sd dvds. Come on CN, get on it!
Why doesn't DC just find another channel. Surely someone would pick the show up is CN's dumb enough to drop it, same with Young Justice as well.

@Chaos Burn: WAIT. AVENGERS WAS CANCELLED? AND SPIDERMAN!! Oh people just want to ruin other people's childhood.
yeah, Avengers got cancelled last year and I think spectacular spider-man was cancelled maybe in 2010? They were being replaced by the ridiculed 'Ultimate Spider-man' and yet to be released 'Ultimate Avengers' tv show (which apparently is a continuation of Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes)
I thought it was Avengers : Assembled, and was linked to the 2012 Avengers film?

To be honest I don't think any other channel will pick it up. Disney XD is strictly Marvel content only, and won't accept anything DC (especially when Cartoon Network is strictly DC Nation).
Also I don't see Nickelodeon picking it up either. I don't even think they could if they wanted to due to copyright/contract with Cartoon Network issues.

It's final days, it's final nights, Our beloved Green Lantern show, cancellation's in sight. Let those who love this show unite, Beware us fanboys TOGETHER WE FIGHT!
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
*battle noise*
maybe this is their new master plan. give us great shows than cancel them unless we buy merchandise.
I never even see merchandise for these two shows. Maybe if they actually put out some good toys and stuff people might buy them.
K4tzm4n, stay away from my orange power ring's! Theyre MINE!! You cant have them! D-:<
Lol bubby, just messin. Hey how about that hunched over posture hal took when he was hoarding the orange lantern when he thought kilowogg and razor were going to try to takeit from him. Halarious
The fact that Young Justice wasn't renewed falls along the lines of most animated series. They hire cheap labor for x number episode run (3 seasons seems to be common) and then when it becomes successful of course the animation company wants more money. They can't take the series to another company either due to licensing reasons. Now GL only being in its 2nd is either due to ratings/merchandise/profits, or maybe the contracts for computer animated is shorter because of the complexity/production differences.

Complaining on the internet really isn't going to get us anywhere with this one. If you really want to try to save these shows, then it's worth shelling out a bit of cash to potentially keep them going, don't you think?
Just to sum everything up pretty much. I mean that's the whole reason of being "fans", to be the audience that keeps the franchise going; however it's the editors and producers responsibility to further promote the title or series to uphold their duties in public relations and increasing the exposure for the specific character(s), series and/or movie(s). That is probably the main reason why I write my reviews to actually further acknowledge the characters that I've always loved through my whole life and hopefully get 1-2 other comic fans to read or pick up on the franchise, themselves.
don't get why they would make a show simply to make money from toys. so silly to me. just make a great show (which they did) and spend money on advertising it and making it better instead of on toys. then if there is a demand for it then make the toys. better yet just make a video game. so sad im never going to get that young justice game that was in development
1.) Where can I buy merchandise besides $100 statues?
2.) Young Justice was great the first season, but really, the second season has sucked in comparison. Season 1 is about as good as Green Lantern, but I hear a lot of people saying how much better YJ is then GL and I really don't see it. Season 2 of YJ ruined the show unfortunately, and GL has a much much better story line imo.
Everyone go here and play the fun flash Green Lantern Game!!!

Buying merchandise is great, but how is CN going to know. You send them your receipt and circle your purchase. Send them a note saying you like and watch the show and want to know why they are taking off the air.

Really? Stop by your local Toy's R Us and even some Walmart stores. I'm pretty sure Mcdonalds sold YJ action figures a little while back :)
I'm sorry but Green Lantern was too campy for my taste. It should have been a lot darker (story wise). As for Young Justice, that should be the show worth saving because with the new Teen Titan Go series coming up. I have feeling it will be another flop like Green Lantern.
I know this post may make me sound like a party pooper and I really love Young Justice(Lost interest in Green Lantern) but I can say with brutal honesty that doing this won't save the shows from the hand of the executives who cancel good things just to introduce shiny new shows with bells and whistles but no heart to them. Case in point, I reference you to the spin machine's response to the Save Young Justice and Green Lantern petitions which I signed
“Thank you to all our fans for expressing just how much they love DC Nation on Cartoon Network. There’s still more new Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series to enjoy in the coming weeks. And DC Nation isn’t going anywhere; there will be plenty of new adventures coming your way later this year.”
Which translated means, "We can see fans are not pleased by our boneheaded decision. However, please enjoy what's left of the shows we haven't aired yet for both series because we're going to replace them anyways in favor of shows we can sell toys for." Do you see? This won't make a difference. The new Batman and Teen Titans shows are meant to act as the next big thing that WB can get money for. It's harrowingly unfair but that's buisnes execs for you.

Ok bit lets get 1 thing clear Young Justice is still better and they better save it than Green Lantern(it is awsome but not as awsome)

Meh, the show was just ok. Now Young Justice, THAT'S worth saving.
It would be so unfair...If they had another season of GL and cancelled Young Justice.
So I should buy stuff and waste money just to save a childish TV show that can't generate enough interst and is failing... ? I don't know from where this is all coming from, no matter in which field of interest, but it seems like that if something fails people feel a responsibility to safe it... for however unneccessary and unimportant for human life this thing may be. Instead of rescuing mother nature, helping other people, doing something against the corruptness in politics etc... NO we need to safe a stupid TV show *lol*
I could go on and talk about this even more since in the last few weeks such bullshit popped up more often. Oh no this is going down we need to buy everything and rescue it... and all of this are completely unimportant, stupid things no one really needs. But no on cares about economy, politics, human rights... no, it is more important to safe a TV show, or some stupid icecream or whatever the hell it is.
People seem to set their priorities completely wrong :(

Huh, where was this article when Avengers: EMH was cancelled? Where was this article when Spectacular Spider-man fell too?!
I'm not going to buy anything unless it's a good show, even if Comicvine wants me to, which is kinda pushy =/
Marvel superhero cartoons are generally horrible. Except maybe SSM.
@YourNeighborhoodComicGeek: Yes, I believe you are correct, the title is Avengers Assemble, but It it in the same universe as Ultimate Spider-man, so I remember them saying
@SuperJedi17: Spectacular Spider-man was the best Spider-man series ever, and IMO, better than any of the films. The jokes were actually funny, the dark parts (e.g. Venom) were dramatic, and there was great character development (Gwen Stacy/Liz Allan and Peter love triangle)
@sethysquare: I'd still recommend Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes to anyone who is slightly into Marvel, but each to their own
@Edimasta: The show isn't "failing." It generates a decent amount of viewership, the Network is apparently just disappointed with how they can market the product. Listen, no one is demanding for you to spend money. I'm saying if you love the show and do indeed want it to stick around, then that's the only plausible option we've got.
As for the rest of your post... come on, dude... this is a comic book website, so we're obviously going to talk about comic book related issues. This show -- it's a comic book related show that people love and want to see it stick around. If you want articles on the economy, international affairs, and energy, then you're really not in the right spot for that discussion (although, you can technically find discussion on those subjects over the in the Off-Topic forum).
awesome article ,i think this is the best thing we can do,sadly my country doesn't have alot of merchandise exposure but ill be keeping my eyes out for it...

I tried watching emh for about 10-20 episodes, but compared to other superhero cartoons, its a far cry. Last time i really enjoyed it was watching xmen evolution as a kid and the 90s xmen.
@sethysquare: X-Men evolution was great, shame they haven't done a continuation series for them as adults
I am not sure how the deal works with CN, but b/c of the cartoon. My 7 year old son reads the Green Lantern Animated Comic, he also put up a poster on the back of his door for GL, he wears GL underwear lol and he was GL for this past Halloween. These types of shows geared toward young kids are good for DC. While DC does have better cartoons, in general they are geared towards adults. However Marvel has better kid shows that are PC appropriate at that level. Marvel is able to hook the kids at a young age. Just my opinion. I am a DC adult reader b/c of Super Friends in the 70's.
But if you are going to turn on the TV and without GL now. What is on for them Superhero Squad.

well seeing as this is a COMIC BOOK SITE, defending COMIC BOOK RELATED THINGS is kind of a given. there are a billion other sites to preach about the human condition. cant we have just one little escape from reality? is that too much to freakin ask
Did ever make smaller figures to collect? I'd buy some though i'd rather see both shows get saved. Or at least DC/WB and CN should be smart about it and leave them on a hiatus. Maybe you could do sequel series set in the same universe. I'd definitely would like to see a new Justice League series in the YJ world.
But yeah I am definitely wanting to buy some merchandise if it helps. :P
