Okay Ryan Reynolds is perfect to play Deadpool there is no arguing that but after seeing the Trailer for Green Lantern I have serious doubts he can play a good Hal Jordan because one he jokes around waaay to much for the character he's supposed to portray. Hal may joke around a bit but no were near the amount they showed in the trailer he's far more serious in the comics. Also I honestly can't picture him as Hal Jordan he doesn't look at all like his comic book counter-part unlike Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey McGuire cause when I see them outside of their costumes in the films I think immediately Ironman and Spider-man but Ryan doesn't have the same effect as Green Lantern plus the suit they use in the film just seems kinda strange for GL
Green Lantern
Concept » Green Lantern appears in 2501 issues.
A Green Lantern is an officer of the intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps, who have the ability to overcome great fear with the might of willpower. They possess power rings capable of creating constructs characterized by their will and strength to use it. Each Green Lantern is given a Sector of the Universe to protect and it is their priority to suppress any threat against their sector.
Does anyone feel Ryan Reynolds will make a terrible Green Lantern
Maybe he's trying to prove to people that he can play a more serious role, and maybe he will prove it.
I think he was a bad Deadpool but he'll make an even worse Green Lantern. The movie seems to want to copy Iron Man too much. Hal Jordan doesn't follow the rules but he doesn't crack wise all the time.
In my opinion the clear choice for Hal Jordan would be:
Nathan Fillion, he's older than Ryan Reynolds but I think Hal Jordan needs to be.

i'm gonna wait to see the movie before i make my final judgment so ill give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
I think Ryan Reynolds will do okay. Not awesome, not terrible. His personality/style definitely seems more suited for either the Flash or Deadpool. For lack of a better word, he seems too goofy or frat boyish to be Hal Jordan.
I would prefer an actor that is more serious, but has that snarky side come out once in a while. David Boreanaz, maybe. What I've seen on "Bones" makes me think that he would be good at it. And (I didn't think of this until after I had written him down as a good choice), he's already been the Green Lantern in "Justice League: The New Frontier." He did really well there.
Can't really see Nathan Fillion in the superhero role (even though he's one of my favourite actors). He was great as Captain Hammer, but that movie had a different feel/style to it. Maybe if he was more of an understated hero. I think I'd like that.
the problem is that a lot of people are comparing his Hal Jordan to the current Hal Jordan and that doesn't work since the current Hal Jordan has zero personality...now if you compare his Hal Jordan to the Hal Jordan from before Parallax and Coast City then it actually works really well...since the Hal Jordan from that time was a smart a$$ed, womanizing, alcoholic
This. You are actually quite right. =)" the problem is that a lot of people are comparing his Hal Jordan to the current Hal Jordan and that doesn't work since the current Hal Jordan has zero personality...now if you compare his Hal Jordan to the Hal Jordan from before Parallax and Coast City then it actually works really well...since the Hal Jordan from that time was a smart a$$ed, womanizing, alcoholic "
While Reynolds isn't my first choice either for this role I do think it's kind of lame to be judging the movie or the humor in the movie based off the trailer. The trailer was clearly made to cater to the Iron Man fans who know nothing about comics.. I mean. It FELT like it was cut to mimic an Iron Man trailer.
That being said.. we didn't get very much dialog out of the trailer and only like 2 or 3 jokes. I think people are jumping the gun a little bit on the judgments personally.
I think Ryan will do fine.
His Deadpool however... I can't wait for that.
I can't stand RR's beady little eyes. They are too close together.
As long as the mask is on, he's O.K. But as soon as it comes off, he looks goofy.
The trailer to Green Lantern was one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. Ryan Reynolds is gonna SUCK HARD as Hal =/
I feel he will be a good Hal because he's a great actor but I feel (DC Universe wise) he should have played the Flash/Wally (Wally is the one they're making a movie about)

Amen!
" no green lantern for me until dvd release. "I'm going to wait for it on to be on cable.
