    A Green Lantern is an officer of the intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps, who have the ability to overcome great fear with the might of willpower. They possess power rings capable of creating constructs characterized by their will and strength to use it. Each Green Lantern is given a Sector of the Universe to protect and it is their priority to suppress any threat against their sector.

    Hey, I new to Green Lantern and I only read Green Lantern Rebirth and saw the movie , and now I got Blackest Night. Will I understand the story?

    I was in a very similar situation when I bought Blackest Night. I didn't know all the DC heroes involved and I had close to zero background information about Green Lantern. Although I didn't understand everything completely, the overall story is rather easy to follow and Geoff Johns provides the reader with enough information to put it in context. I'm sure you'll do fine.

    @tomer_1997: Maybe if you read Sinestro Corps War first, then you'll enjoy it more. And Sinestro Corps War is probably Johns' best work on GL
