Hal Jordan, distraught by the distruction of Coast City, goes on a rampage, killing nearly every Green Lantern and eventually absorbing the Oan Central power Battery, becoming Parallax.

The Gaurdians of the Universe have left this dimension to fare for itself. In their absence, the Universe falls into turmoil. On Earth, the Manhunter androids have discovered the orb of Harbinger, and use it against Earth's heroes.

Sinestro and the Sinestro Corps bring war to the Green Lantern Corps as well as the heroes of planet Earth.
