Green Lantern

Summary

Kyle and Donna get into it for a bit as they are still awkward around each other after their fight a few issues back. After she explains to Kyle the situation he offers to help. Back on Rann they prepare for the inevitable confrontation and Adam strange comes to assist them.

Back on the ship Kyle’s fills Donna in on what he was up to in her absence when they get attacked. They defend themselves.

On Rann a Darkstar is killed as the invader and his troop’s teleport right in and start to take down the Darkstars. He is revealed as lord Grayven and singlehandedly takes out john and Adam. Kyle and Donna finish off their assailants and rush to the planet they find the darkstars defeated and Grayven turns his attention and power to them.

The Good

Action- action junkies start your engines things ramp up real fast in this issue and I’m sure it will be a welcome change from the hero quest storyline where our hero was in no real danger.

Art- fitting is the best word to describe the art it is really “Kyle’s style” as it really captures the essence of who he is and what he does.

Threat- In this issue we get a villain who has been building for quite some time and when he finally makes his debut you can’t help but worry for everyone involved. His design is regal and majestic and awe inspiringly scary all at once.

Story- the threat has reared its head and it’s presented much in the same way that Parallax/Hal was during emerald twilight. This is the threat that has come to destroy the successors of the green lantern corp, the darkstars face a threat that they can’t

possibly defeat and man is it glorious to watch unfold. Kyle and Donna also get some great panel time to rehash and start working towards the inevitable reconciliation. All in all a very solid read.
