Wow what an issue...a worthy ending to the best thing ever to happen to Green Lantern and the Corp. While I am dissapointed Guy didn't die...who expected him to? One thing DC needs to get right...timing...I knew from Countdown that Superman Prime was not dead. Anyways I digest...LOL

I will not spoil anything...The Green Lantern Corps, JLA, JSA, and others battle the Sinestro Corps. Needless to say from Countdown...you figure it out...go read it. :p

It is gorgeously done in art and writing and it makes you feel good about the outcome...AND it is unlike anything I have ever read before...the perfect storyline!

I actually needed to take a cigarette break after that. In fact so much happened in this issue I had to read it a second time. Real high octane over the top battle scenes and Reis' art is absolutely fantastic. Some pages have dozens and dozens of characters fighting. Anyway without giving away spoilers here's why the story is so great. Guardians reveal the prophecy of the 7 corps, Sinestro dukes it out with Hal but may have already won since he already achieved what he wanted. Anti-Monitor, Prime and Henshaw are taken out in style, a super-intelligent smallpox lantern WHO WANTS JUSTICE!, and the revealing at the end of the black lanterns. At that, Johns leaves us anxiously waiting for 2 years until Blackest Night comes out. Cannot wait.

This issue came out in December of last year, so I guess now it's ok to point out some of the little things happening in this book.

CONTAINS some SPOILER ACTION.... from this issue and more.

One of the best things to this amazing climax is the one on one battle between Hal & Sinestro, it's some of the most satisfying reading I've done in years. The next thing coming up is Blackest Night, however, it's next year. If you notice on one of the last pages, after Anti-Monitor becomes the black battery, a symbol on the ground, the symbol is the same as Black Hand's symbol. His quest for a lantern ring was a minor part of Rebirth. This leads many to believe that Black Hand will lead the Black Lanterns. Since there are black lanterns, what about a white lantern? Let the rumor mill begin. In the current G.L.C. comic, Mongul is on a ring collecting spree, with numerous Yellow Lantern rings under his belt. Many think that he may collect one color from each spectrum. Collecting all of the rings, all the colors of the rainbow together equals a white lantern. However, Mongul becoming the only white lantern isn't the best thing for the DCU. Many speculate that Kyle will also become a light lantern. The hints are there, reread Green Lantern from Rebirth to now, the hints are there.

An epic conclusion to an epic story!

Johns has compared his Green Lantern books with the original Star Wars starting with A New Hope as Rebirth and Empire Strikes Back as the Sinestro Corps War. And that's exactly what he delivered. In my opinion, Empire Strikes Back is the best of the Star Wars saga and the Sinestro Corps is one of the greatest Green Lantern stories EVER! This issue concludes the arc and gives every major character of the arc a highlight. It wraps it all up very nicely and sets everything up for the next upcoming Green Lantern arc, The Blackest Night! Green Lantern is back to being one of the best comics out there thanks to some fantastic writing and artwork!

    The Finest GL Story EVER!

Words can NOT describe the greatness of the Sinestro Corps War.I can't fathom a better more mind-blowingly amazing Green Lantern story. This was possibly the best thing I've ever read (Granted I've only been reading comics for a year but still).

I don't want to say much about what happens in this mighty conclusion for two reasons. Reason 1, spoilers, I hate them, and I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone in that thought. Reason 2, so damn much happens in this ish, I could write a book about it's happenings and their possible ramifications.

In the end, all that I can say is that this story has been both epic and amazing and this issue is beyond perfect. Johns is at the top of his game, Reis' art gets better every panel, and Van Sciver's art is some of the best in the business. In conclusion, for two years I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for (spoiler!) The Blackest Night.

This was a culmination of the greatest comic story to come out in 2007. It was strong from beggining to end. The action contiued to rise throughout the entire story, and so did the story element. The involvement of the other Heroes, from Superman and Batman, to the new Shazam and Blue Beetle, this was truly an event that rocked the entire DCU. The suprising end, from the death of a Guardian, to Ganthet and Sayd's creation of a new corps. It was a wonderful payoff. I can't wait till 2009.
