Tales Of Fear And Willpower
Tales of different Sinestro Corps members that intertwine in the Sinestro Corps War. Short stories dealing with Green Lantern Corps members after the Sinestro Corps War.
My Thoughts:This trade paperback collection collects a bunch of short stories written mostly by Geoff Johns and at times assisted by Ron Marz, Alan Burnett and Sterling Gates. The primary focus is on different members of the Sinestro Corps. It gives readers more insight to their characters and their purpose. Some of these stories take place before the war while some intertwine during the war. In addition to those stories, we also get to see how the Green Lantern Corps deal with the war. While it was quick it was still nice to gain that extra insight into their world and see the rebuilding process begin. We all know this isn't the end and not the worst of what is to come. The Blackest Night is fast approaching and it will be interesting to see how that begins to materialize.
The art is extremely well done courtesy of Pete Woods, Dave Gibbons and Joe Prado to name a few. The panels are nicely constructed and efficiently capture the high amount of action this story presents. The cover artists Ivan Reis, Ethan Van Sciver and Ed Benes craft some beautiful looking covers.
If you're a huge Green Lantern fan then you wont want to miss out on this. If Green Lantern comics aren't something you're really into then you may want to skip over this and just read the main Sinestro Corps War story arc. This spin-off makes a nice edition to the overall story arc, but isn't essential for understanding everything that's going on. This is a nice source for gaining insight and knowledge to Green Lantern mythology as well.
