    Welcome to the _____ Corps

When I first started reading Green Lantern comics about a year ago I always thought the only lantern that I would ever find myself caring for would be Hal Jordan. Kyle Rayner has always been a close second to Jordan, but for me personally he never seemed to have the exact same presence that Jordan did. With the release of Green Lantern New Guardians it seems like I may soon be developing a new appreciation for Rayner. Green Lantern New Guardians #2 leaves off where the last issue did and where War of the Green Lanterns ended. At the end of the last issue we saw that one lantern from each corps was suddenly decommissioned by their rings, and all rings suddenly chose Kyle to be their bearer. This issue starts right where that issue left off and opens up with an action packed battle between Kyle and the other lanterns.

Kyle wants nothing to do with the rings and manages to escape the other Lanterns, with the help of Saint Walker of the Blue Lantern Corps. Together the two of them flee to Oa to seek help from the Guardians and once again—just as was with the conclusion of War of the Green Lanterns—the Guardians of the universe shock us once again, only to have what appears to be an interesting plot twist revealed at the end which I will not spoil for those who wish to read and haven’t. New Guardians is definitely shaping up to be one of the better Lantern books released inside the new 52 and for fans of Kyle Rayner it definitely should be read, because this is a Rayner story I’m sure none will want to miss.

As opposed to the first issue this is one I would characterize as much more action based, and while it feels kind of necessary after the developments of the first issue, there is really not a lot of plot or characterization going on in this issue.  The action mostly follows Kyle as he is being attacked by Arkillo, Fatality and Bleez so that they can retrieve the rings.  This I thought was handled fairly well especially some of the dialogue.  When saint Walker shows up the pair head to Oa with th...

This comic is on of my favorite New 52 titles. I LOVE IT!!! The first issue was great and this second issue was NOT a letdown.Just in case you didn't read the first issue, (don't worry, this isn't a spoiler) Green Lantern Kyle Rayner has suddenly become a power ring-magnet. Issue one ended with Kyle being chosen by a ring from each the other ring corps as their new ring bearer, but had yet to put any of them on.As soon as I finished the first issue, I was hoping that Kyle would actually get to p...
