I doubt he's dead cause didnt kal-el  do just bout the same thing and it cured him of kryptonite poisoning
and since sodam is a daxamite which is extremely close to kryptonians  so it might cure his  lead poisoning
cause i guess it says in the book of oa that sodam is gonna be a big part of the light war
