They portray her as the psychopathic obsessive type, so that's probably it........
She went crazy after hearing that a Green lantern let her home planet be destroyed, so she went out to kill every Green Lantern in existence..........
Then the Zamarons converted her from a Sinestro Corps member to a Star Sapphire............
Her immediate request upon emerging was "Ring. Locate John Stewart"

John's first time meeting Fatality; she is just about to kill Kyle. John comes in and prepares to fight her, even if he has to with his bare hands..... which then start to glow, and allows John to fire residual energy from the Central Power Battery (used by Parallax to heal John in Final Night) and blast Fatality away
John finds out that his energy powers only work when someone else is in danger, as he blasts Fatality
John attacks Fatality to protect Kyle and Jade, expending all of the energy Hal gave him in a huge explosion
John apparently has expelled all of the energy Parallax gave him, seemingly vaporizing everything around him, and leaving him paralyzed once more
John's first visit since he was paralyzed (again), to resolve the issues between him and Yrra, and most likely to help with his guilt over Xanshi.
John visits Fatality again, and she reveals that John is not actually paralyzed, and is only imagining it, through her ability to sense structural weakness (where she senses that John's spine is in perfect shape), after a "favor" of course
After playing chess, talking shop, and roughing up a few bad guys, Alan and John part ways, as John goes to pay Fatality a final visit, who explains the real reason she helped John learn to walk again.
John easily disarms Fatality (now part of the Injustice Gang) of her staff and contains her, despite her new Sinestro Corps ring. He is about to take out Shade too, until Poison Ivy accelerates the growth of Flora in his body, causing him to black out.
After this are the events of Blackest night, leading to Fatality's coversion to a Star Sapphire.
