DC Teases War of the Green Lanterns For March 2011
When it comes to events at DC, you can always count on Green Lanterns to hold their own epic ones. DC announced "War of the Green Lanterns" beginning in March 2011's War of the Green Lanterns #1. The story will continue in the Green Lanterns titles in March, April and May.
There isn't much information available at this time except that we will be seeing something that will tear Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner apart from each other. Each Lantern will be tested and tested against one another.
After the Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night, what could cause the Corps to turn on each other? We have a few months to think about it. Keep an eye out to see if any clues pop up before then.
Sounds pretty good.
" *Yawn* "Seconded. -- It's not just snark for the hell of it, it's just that when I read the headline I did tilt my head sideways and uttered... "Again? Come on..."
I'll pass, anyway. -- There's way more interesting and less bloated stuff on the shelves these days...
Stoked! The Mad Guardian (I'm guessing it's the Guardian from Mosaic) who stole Ion and let Sodam Yat fall to Daxam delivered a master stroke in distracting the Corps from the primary threat. Yat, now a fugitive on his home world for failing to maintain its super powers is angry at the Guardians and coupled with the Red font, means Atrocitus is in on this as well.

I think Sodam will have something to do with it (probably wanting to over throw the guardians) but i could see Rayner stick up for the guardians, Hal coming out to the others about basically naming him and the leaders of the other colors the new guardians, Gardener calling Hal out about becoming corrupt and him breaking out on his own and with Atrocitus, and Stewart not liking any stand point from the others but will stay out of it to just protect the earth.

"Yeah I think that Sodam's going after the guardians will cause a rift between the 4 lanterns.
" Which ring belongs to each lantern in the pic above? "I don't see Alan Scott's ring..Hopefully Guy Gardner stomps these other INFERIOR Lanterns.
Hal Jordan will show the three noobies who the greatest Green Lantern ever is :D
Seriously though, if this is up to the standard of past events then it should be great. It's hard to imagine what'll cause them to turn on each other, after all they've been through together, though.
You know this is purely for sales. Any rift between the GL's will be repaired and everyone will be friends again anyway. I'd prolly skip this too if i wasnt a big GL fan.
All the other lanterns will get into their giant squabble for the various reasons that have been building up, and then, right before their utter destruction, John Stewart will single handedly stop the war, become a guardian again, and Mosaic will get uncanceled.
A man can dream can't he?
Sorry the GL universe lost me with the Blackest Night storyline
good to see the Corp back in action, but their is to much ring slingers and related issus these days.
And besides they never felt like true "cosmic" event
I get my space fix with the guys at Marvel. The Thanos Imperative was fantastic!
"I get my space fix with the guys at Marvel. The Thanos Imperative was fantastic! "Way better than Blackest Night, if you ask me. It was like ALIENS and STARSHIP TROOPERS on acid.
Not a cosmic comic kinda reader. Green Lanterns have been good the past few years, but I like Green Lantern. Im not in Aliens but aliens with power rings are okay for me because I like power rings and the things they do. I loved Sinestro War, I loved Blackest Night, so I assuming I'll like this as well. My gut tells me it's gonna have to do with the G.L. getting sick of the guardians because lately they have been obviously getting tired of their actions, and the Blackest Night lie didn't help them out. That will be the dividing line causing a .....dare I say it.......Civil War.
GL has been stale since after blackest night, all it is rainbow color lanterns that caused me drop this title and ive been following gl for 2 yrs although i still love larfleeze. its a great concept but this is somthing i can trade wait for. also johns work is suffering quite a bit. its not as great as 07 to beginning of 010 work hes done. The fact he's doing brightest day, flash, n gl along with his new position at DC, the writing has just not been the same for me.
"Which ring belongs to each lantern in the pic above? "
The middle two look like standard rings, so are probably Hal and Guy's.
The one on the far right, looks like Kyle's ring, and since Cyborg Superman forcibly started to turn John into an Alpha Lantern, the one on the far left may be his.....
Its a cool idea still but I am not sure about this I mean I am not a fan of superhero civil wars when they turn on each other or just two heroes even. Except hero and anti hero I could like or makes more sense but hero vs hero is a concept that makes it just sad for me. Doesn't mean I wont check it out : )
This has got to be the most interesting tidbit in all of Green Lantern's corner of the universe.
And if it were a battle between the four, it will obvious that Kyle wins. C'mon, he's a former Ion and is the most creative of the four.
John was the only mortal ever made into a Guardian. Plus he's an architect so his constructs are more structurally sound. I think that trumps former Ion and artist." Sweet, looking forward to it, though I'm concerned about who's writing it. Since Kyle is obviously the best of these guys (feat/power wise), it'll be frustrating if Geoff writes it and Hal comes out looking like Superman...again.
