    MOGO SMASH!

BOOM! This issue just like a retard bomb, blew my brain out & hit me with it's giant portion of awesomeness. #44 has to sell strongly marked "Crazy Adult Geeks Only" 'cause you have to be nearly insane to understand and love this messy story.

Guy Gardner has always been an unusual Green Lantern. From the first issues of vol. 2 (i jumped into Corps book just on number 5) he was outrageously rash. Of course, he had "the ability to instill the great fear" & blahblahblah but in a subconscious level we all knew that the Ring's missed. And now, Peter Tomasi did what i've been waiting for nearly two years - "Guy Gardner of Earth, Welcome to Red Lantern Corps". My first thought was "Wow", than "Great", than "Amazing", than "@#%&*" and so on. When the first impression passed, Mogo appeared & it all started again.

So, Mogo... If you don't know (pfff):
    1) A planet
    2) Green Lantern of Space Sector 2261
    3) Sick fantasy of mid 80's

Now he/it mobilizes and went/flew to help the defenders of OA. But his methods seems to be a little radical. With Hulk-style he (not paying attention to the dialogue in the comic specially dedicated to this topic) purges. Don't wanna spoil the main plot-twist but with "Hero of the month" title we (i, ok) figured out.

And a few words about the brilliant artwork. Panels on pages 5-6, 9-10, 17-18, 19, 21-22, 23 and 24 are crying for a huge-sized posters. Silly of you to sit and read this text and not take the money and run headlong into the comic-shop.

This is hands down one of the best issues of Green Lantern Corps the art is some of the best that I’ve seen and two of the splash pages are frame worthy. There were some problems it follows the type of story we’ve all come to know and love (if you don’t know what I’m talking about BL shows up, torments then a deus ex machina happens) well at least the third part of the pattern but it is used to set up the next part of the story. With all of the set up for Red Lantern Guy Gardner you think he’d g...

In what seems to be a continuing trend across the entire Blackest Night series, the action is relenting here as is the immediacy of the plot.  At the end of the previous issue we saw the arrival of Mogo, here we see what Mogo has planned.  First though the Lanterns have to deal with the continued assault on the Central Power Battery.  Kyle decides (against the advice of others) to try to get the red power ring off of Guy, but then Mogo decides that the time for action is then and there.  The sol...
