Every good hero has a weakness...

and Jon Stewart's weakness seems to be the fact that he is incredibly dull. He brooded his way through the first few pages better than the lead singer in a teenage emo band. Luckily some cool monsters and weird froggy looking people showed up and kept this reader from falling asleep. Got to meet some new gladiators that will hopefully draw the attention off of Jon Stewart in the future. You would think the love affair between a woman and the man that destroyed that woman's planet would be interesting but no... somehow even that is boring when Jon Stewart is involved. GL Corp with only Jon Stewart is like watching a Lethal Weapon sequel with only Danny Glover. This book needs Guy badly, or at the very least the squirrel lantern to liven things up or this is going to find itself off my pull list.

In short, Van Jensen and Bernard Chang's first issue of Green Lantern Corps is excellent! 0

The Writing: The writing is easily a 5/5. It's a strong start to the title with a fresher, more fun, more Green Lantern CORPS tone. Van Jensen displays a mastery of dialogue, a great sense of humor, the ability to incorporate action effectively, and the ability to juggle multiple characters effectively. He manages to actually develop many of the characters in this book in only 22 pages! This book is filled with aliens, but it has plenty of humanity. This is John Stewart's title, but make no mist...
