    Mine! Mine! Mine!

The Blackest Night is fast approaching and writer Geoff Johns shakes things up yet again with the introduction of Agent Orange. The character of Larfleeze is introduced and he instantly strikes you as a ferocious opponent not to be taken lightly. I have to commend Geoff Johns for his ability at consistently creating new characters and introducing them to this vast world he's rebuilt over the past few years and redefined. It seems there's no limit to his imagination. Larfleeze's backstory was equally interesting as his menacing appearance. We find out his connection to the Guardians and learn a little more of why the Vega System has been off limits to Green Lanterns. Later on in the story, Hal Jordan made a deal with Larfleeze and learned from him how Larfleeze first came in contact with the Guardians.

What I also found interesting was that the Guardians told Larfleeze where to find a Blue Power Ring. We see him arrive at the planet Odym, home of the Blue Lanterns. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the following issues. What I find more interesting is the actions of the Guardians as of late. We're seeing them in a different light lately. They don't appear to be the peace-loving, peace-keeping Guardians Of The Universe that they've claimed to be. Instead they're starting to look real corrupt. Changes laws as they please to fit their own selfish needs and desires. I like how Johns is giving me characters to hate though. I can't wait to see the Guardians receive a taste of their own medicine.

While this Green Lantern series predominately stars Hal Jordan, writer Geoff Johns doesn't neglect the other characters involved in this epic space opera. The multiple plot lines running simultaneously were all nicely written and incredibly interesting. John Stewart's past came back to greet him unexpectedly which I actually enjoyed a lot. I don't know a lot about John Stewart so I liked Johns filling me in a little more about the characters past which was very interesting.

The artwork is drawn by Phillip Tan. I really enjoyed his take on the Green Lantern series. The coloring in this book is phenomenal. It's just so incredibly vibrant, as it should be. These artists do a great job depicting these fantastical worlds for readers to enjoy.

This was another great installment of the Green Lantern series. No one writes Green Lantern like Geoff Johns does. Say what you want about him, but he's revitalized this series and brought it to new heights. What makes this series so compelling is the plethora of characters involved in it, each which have interesting personalities and pasts that Geoff Johns takes full advantage of. Definitely check this out if you haven't already.

The volume, introduced more background into the Blue Lanterns, the home of the Blue Lantern Corps Power Battery and some of their powers.  Jordan struggle to get the Blue Power Ring off throughout the issues to no effect and just doesn't see how the Blue Power of Hope can help him, even going to declining to become a leader of the Blue Lantern Corps.  Even though Saint Walker advices him that the only way to take the ring off is by using all the power, draining the ring. However, when Hal Jordan...
