Fun with Barallax
I thought this was an okay issue. I must admit that Geoff Johns run on Green Lantern is really starting to run thin for me, and I would really like it if another writer took over for him, but that's besides the point.
What's the good: Doug Mahnke's art is definitly showing some improvement. I thought the fight between Hal and Barallax (Barry Allen possessed by Parallax) was good, and there definitly was some strong dialogue there. I also liked the fact that we finally got to see who the hoodless figure is that's collecting all of the emotional embodiements (Won't spoil who it is, if you haven't read this issue.)
What's the bad: Doug Mahnke art is improving, but the way he draws Hal (And other characters.) still needs to be worked on. I always wasn't so keen on the idea of Barry Allen becoming the next host of Parallax, as I personally find that Parallax is really starting to become unnecessary at this point, and that anytime anyone gets possessed by Parallax, it starts to get old really fast. I can say this about the masked figure, whatever happens in the next issue, it could very well be the biggest retcon that Geoff Johns ever does. I also didn't like the movie preview picture they showed. It could have been something much better, like a scene we haven't seen yet.
