Hal Jordan has been out trying to find himself. He walks from town to town looking for work and now he has finally made his way to California to help pick peaches thanks to a tip from his new hippie friend Clay (issue 2). Hal finally feels content where he is at, he has a good job and is ready to learn everything he can. The only thing stopping him is the fact that several cities he has been to have magically disappeared without a trace and not even Superman is able to find any clues as to their whereabouts. Clay manages to give Hal some good advice on running away and being who he is meant to be, this is the turning point for Hal. He falls asleep and a rather messed up dream/communication with John Stewart who's mind is being over taken by Appa Ali Apsa. Hall wakes up knowing what he has to do, he has a friend to save and a few cities to find as well. Although he has been running away from his calling for a while Hal finally puts on his suit, recites the oath he has neglected to say all this time and heads off to Oa.

Over all a great issue and the best of the beginning of this series so far. While the first three issues started out a bit slowly it all starts making more sense and culminating in this issue. Appa has really lost it and while his goal is a bit silly by modern villain standards, it still makes for a good introduction for the new Green Lantern Volume.
