    A new Beginning

The first issue in the new Green Lantern series has some good to offer but doesn't really go anywhere. Hal, Guy and John are all reintroduced. Hal visits the JLA, bumps into Batman, Blue Beetle and Guy before saying that he isn't going to join them. Instead we find Hal off to find himself, hopping trains, hitchhiking and working as a farm had. Really the only interesting part of this comic involves John Stewart who is still in the midst of his breakdown over what happened with Xanshi. Still struggling with his past he makes a return trip to OA even though everything is ruined and there is no life detected while he is there. This plot line leaves you with an interest in what is happening to OA and John but ultimately you end up giving a crap about Guy and Hal who both seem to just continue on with their normal routines. Not a bad issue, and certainly a good place to start for this series, but this is also no thing most intense or intriguing issue in the Green Lantern Series.
