Most superhero movies make bank, big time. Hollywood knows this, and they know that they can't keep revitalizing that cash cow on sequels and reboots. You think Kick-Ass or Green Hornet would have gotten made if Superman was still a thriving franchise? DC has finally poked out of their Superman/Batman shell with Green Lantern and that's a definite summer winner. I doubt they're stopping with ol' Hal Jordan.
Hollywood is seeing green right now (in more ways then one) and I'm beginning to think the floodgates are about to open. Being my usual hopelessly optimistic self, I believe Green Arrow might be getting his chance on he silver screen. Of course, Green Hornet and Green Lantern are already around, so the non-nerd target audience would no doubt be confused and/or spiteful at the sight of a third green hero. Still, in the coming years, is it entirely impossible that Oliver Queen could get his time to shine?
Comic book movies are always coming out of the wood work, so it makes perfect sense that a more obscure character like GA could get a movie deal. With the hope that that's what Warner Bros. producers are thinking, here are my thoughts on what would make an awesome film debut for the Emerald Archer.
Writing
One of the things that can make or break a comic book movie is writing, because we all know that in the translation from page to screen, someone comes up with a really stupid line.
Casting
Those are some of my quick thoughts. I hope Warner Bros. producers agree, because Green Arrow has the potential to make a great jump from page to screen. I'd like to hear what you fellow viners think about this.
