where angels fear to tread

i was browsing thru green lantern stacks at my comic shop and came across the arc for where angels fear to tread and was just wondering if it was any good?  The covers look really cool and i was on the verge of buying them when i saw that the artist was Jim Apparo; i absolutely abhor his run on batman knightquest, all the faces are elongated he has no sense of perspective depth or style.  It got to the point that i would start a new issue, see his name, groan and actually quit reading for awhile!

So, long story short:
A) is the story good?    and
B) Does Apparo ruin it with his "art"?

I don't know. I can't find any examples of Jim Aparo's art. Can you?
