I mean like despite the fact he is a hero and a member of the JLA, is Oliver a good role model for children?

A perfect one?  No.
A flawed one?  Yes.

A good one?  Definitely!

A good one in the sense that he's a hero. But he's also killed, punched Roy in the face and kicked him out forcing him to go through withdrawls on his own, was there for his childs birth and then ran away from the responsibility, and lets a teen with HIV fight supervillans. he has some serious lapses in judgement.

I think he would be the first to tell you he's no role model

Yes, when I was little I watched Justice league Unlimited and I thought he was the coolest hero ever!!! Then a few years later I got into actual Comic Books and read his stuff and I still to this very day think he is the coolest most badass super hero of all time. He is a pretty good role model.

This.

Perfect role models are over-rated anyway.
