The dark and crime-infested streets of Gotham City will soon invade your TVs. As the premiere date approaches, Fox is obviously going to make sure we're well aware of when we'll need to tune in or set our DVRs to check out the first episode. This latest video focuses on James Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) promotion and return to Gotham. The promo has brief cameos of many of the city's heroes and villains and makes it clear this show is going to be all about giving these characters new beginnings. Check it out below.

Does anyone think the "welcome home" message is a nod to a certain infamous Batman villain or is it simply showing he's not going to welcomed back with open arms? Only time shall tell! Viners, are you going to give the first episode a shot? Let us know below.

Gotham will debut Monday, September 22 on Fox.

The big red letters did seem a little like a Joker nod. But we'll have to wait and see.

Despite some odd choices and the possible problems inherent in a 'Gotham-before-Batman' series, I'm pretty excited and hopeful for this series.

I still have no motivation to see this. I feel about it the same way i do with the new FF movie. They want to use the names to bring in the fan boy audience but toss the source out the window, so the uninitiated (in my Bane voice) voice won't be lost and they have no rules to abide by. I would have been more interested on a series about young bruce wayne's travels around the world to become the Dark Knight, or focused on BatGirl or the original question (another great detective). Thankfully Flash & Constantine looks like that will be AWESOME!

I hope that they don't include Joker early in the show. He's the primary existence of Batman. Without Batman, they shouldn't be a Joker yet.

Yeah, I do not understand why they decided to do some prequel over just a live action Batman show.

It will be Easter eggs and Joker will probably appear every episode played by different actors. They won't do an actual Joker origin. I

What? Really? Ummm...Okay. Why the heck would Fox do that? Is it really necessary to include the any possible Joker in Season 1 already? Even without revealing himself? Plus, this Joker should be the same age as Bruce Wayne.

I don't think it's necessary to include hints about this Joker, whoever he is. Fox just want to include this possible Joker, so that they can boost the ratings up ever since the late Heath Ledger did a fantastical job in The Dark Knight.
