Gotham City
Location » Gotham City appears in 10033 issues.
Gotham City is under the protection of Batman and his proteges from the criminally insane supervillains, gangs, and mobs that litter its streets.

I like the idea. It also brings something new to the table. You see the problems Gotham have before Batman. Often it seems like Batman also has a part of spawning his villains and this gives something new. I would like to see Mr. Freeze but maybe doubtful because of his new origin in N52. Hugo Strange could also be used in the show. As a fan service you could have Basil Karlo as a actor about to become famous or on top of his career. The only problem I have is that it makes Catwoman and Poison Ivy pretty old when Batman puts on his suit (not going to happen in the show but when it happens in the future).
Trying to excited...but can't really shake the feeling its just going to be another cop drama except with recognizable characters. I am really tired of those shows.
Will try it out I guess, only fair, but I don't think its for me.
Oh it will be.
can't wait. Batman is my all time favorite super heroes, cause he uses his brain and wealth to fight crime. that being said i hope this show is more successful then the Birds of Prey series, which lasted one season. I liked it, but as long as DC/Warner says no Batman on TV, just movies and cartoons, no Live Action TV, this is setup to fail. I watched Ben McKenzie's last two shows The O.C. and SouthLAnd and he's definitely got the acting chops. The Trailer has me hopeful, but it being on FOX, and them seemingly canceling any out of the norm shows, makes me nervous. After Arrow and soon the upcoming Flash series, plus Smallville, TV DC can definitely be done, whether they do it "right" or not is the key. Now i'm wondering if The Joker will actually be the Red Hood still when he's on the show, or will they make there own timeline.
on a side note, quick question, they say next Fall, does that mean Fall 2014 season or Fall 2015 season? thanks duders. :) <>Peace
Just milk Batman for every last cent. Where is Alfred's home makeover, Adventures of Ace the Bathound or Batwoman's eye for the straight gal ?

You have to admit, it's a fairly efficient business strategy. Whatever Batman touches turns into money.
@wolverine08: Oh I do.
I'm waiting for Jim Henson's Batman babies or Batman goes Hawaiian.
@comicace3: No it will not, The show runner has stated in an interview he does not like super hero movies or comics saying you cannot take a drama series with a man in a cape and this will be more of a gritty cop drama. So I would not get your hopes up for Batman to ever show up, Yet we are going to see a young Joker.

Yeah FOX and it's execs have a bad habit of canceling shows that they don't like, say nothing about fans. Two examples would be Terra Nova which while it did start slow in the ratings actually picked up after Baseball season stopped messing with the schedule, but the execs didn't like the type of show it was (sci-fi). Then we have Almost Human from this year, everyone I know liked the show, but again due to Baseball and American Idol it gets bumped around and eventually canceled. So here's fingers crossed, but I do hate that it's in no way going to be attached to any other DC franchise TV or Movies.
Constantine Trailer is up now can we discuss that as I really have a bad feeling about this Gotham show. I mean when we get down to it Does fox have the rights to actually show Batman? and why oh why are they going to introduce joker

I'd so watch that.
I would like this more if it entirely deviated from the batman books. If the first scene was Gordon saving Bruce's parents, that'd be more interesting to me because it'd be clear this was something new.
Plus then you could have a brilliant but decidedly not driven Bruce Wayne fixated on Gordon and crime fighting but without the caution and true understanding of the danger. Could be an interesting spin.
Well, I think while not perfect, Arrow is the best tv show adaptation of a superhero. Smallville was good too, but was more hit/miss at times, but it also was 10 years long & had to suffer the writer's strike. These & Constantine's preview, DC is still far beyond in what Marvel has been able to make with tv shows. I quit on Agent's of Shield a bit after that supposed tie-in with Thor2. I'll watch it when it gets posted on Netflix, but I wont be eagerly waiting for that torture.
I dont like origin story adaptations for movies/tv. But it seems to me, a younger Bruce starting out as Batman would have been far more interesting than Smallville. But I guess we have the movies to blame.
As for this being a crime procedural show, I actually kinda would like a CSI: or Law&Order: spin-off to take place in a fictional universe. Law&Order:Klingon or CSI:Gotham does sound interesting. I just hope DC doesnt ruin this like Marvel did with Agent Colson's show.
