The comicvine entry for "God" is completely stupid - fix it!!

#1 Edited by Charlie_Jade (523 posts) - - Show Bio

God is a concept, an All Father of the Abrahamic religions, the is the ONE-ABOVE-ALL founding Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Bahá'í Faith.

The characters God, Moses, Bahemot, Ramiel, Sariel, the Devil, the Angels, the Demons, the Holy Spirit they appear in many comics

now read the comic vine entry.

When Jesse died, God went back to Heaven having fulfilled his promise to the vampire - Custer and Cassidy were once again alive and whole. He came through the gates of Heaven to find the entire Host of angels dead, and the Saint of Killers in the middle of the carnage.

God tried to bargain with the Saint, offering to return his life, his humanity, his family to him. He begged the Saint to tell him what he wanted. The Saint replied, "To rest." And shot God dead.

.

Some thing about vampires.....wtf its this twilight?? tru blood?? and another dude shot God - to death

http://www.comicvine.com/god/29-10526/

Seriously WTF is this shit?

Only canon stuff should be in the comic book entry, any other crap with Vampires, Crucified Santa, Raptor Jesus, Cowboys and Spaceships....let's leave that seperate as fanfiction on the internet or separate comic book alternative realities

@Charlie_Jade: it isn't a page for the God of the bible...it's a page for comic book characters named God

Online
#3 Posted by SmashBrawler (5501 posts) - - Show Bio

That would be Preacher.

#4 Posted by cameron83 (6696 posts) - - Show Bio

@danhimself: thank you

#5 Posted by joshmightbe (24691 posts) - - Show Bio

There are several different pages for God, there's Image God, Vertigo God, The Presence, TOAA, etc, etc, you just happened to read about the God from Preacher.

#6 Posted by Charlie_Jade (523 posts) - - Show Bio

No this is the entry for "Public Domain" God

read the link

its accuracy is terrible

thanks, maybe preacher entry and the public domain entry should be kept separate

#8 Posted by fesak (7031 posts) - - Show Bio

No, there should only be one page and all different variations should be detailed. As said before this is the page for describing comic book variations of God, and at the moment only the preacher version is detailed, but other versions are coming.

Let's say for a second some foreign kid goes on the interwebs and wants to look up the concept of "God" in comics. Maybe he works at a phone company in India and his parents are of Zoroastrianism background, maybe this boy or girl is a Ryukyuan kid from Japan? Maybe they are atheists from Eastern Europe? Maybe the people interwebbing God are Chinese? They have 0% Christianity in their town, 0% Christian in their schools, no jewish, no islam, no catholic, nothing.

They want to read about the idea of "God" in comics

All they can read on comicvine is this crap about Vampires and some dude who shot God to death

Seriously WTF is that?

.the god concept appears in many other media,

Ghost Rider

Phantom Stranger Comics

animated cartoons....

...just to name a few

But that stuff happened in comics involving God, so to not have them mentioned in a comic book wiki would... well, sort of defeat the purpose of even having it.

@Charlie_Jade: Its a wiki dude, you can edit it

If you Google the word, 'God', I don't know how long you'd have to look, but comicvine isn't in the first ten pages anyway.

If that happened to god in a comic book, what's wrong with it being on the 'God' page of a comic book website?

4th place (putting god, comic and character together)

1st place !!

@Charlie_Jade: So fix it, you have the ability to edit the page you're complaining about.

But, why would you immediately think of comic books as a place to learn about god?

And again, If something happened to god in a comic book, what's wrong with it being on the 'God' page of a comic book website?

Seriously there's a big green box over every entry that says "EDIT THIS PAGE" click that and it will give you the ability to make those changes because as I said before Its a Wiki.

@fesak: I'm just saying if he isn't willing to do the minimal amount of effort to change something that he has the ability to change then he's got no room to complain.

Isn't that what the internet is for? :p

The thinking of the OP is why we get so many pages filled out with stuff unrelated to comics. In general, public domain characters should have a brief description and then how they relate to comics. The rest is not that important. Fesak is one of the boss wiki editors among the wiki mods, so if he says he is working on it, then he is working on it.

@fesak: No the internet is for futile complaints that change nothing, along with porn and cat pictures :-)

#22 Edited by Charlie_Jade (523 posts) - - Show Bio

Ok Fesak, Razzatazz I'll give a quick go at editing. I've a few hours to kill. But I'll warn u I'm going to edit-a lot of it.

I don't want to delete any writing because whomever wrote the Preacher entry did a lot of work

Is there some way I can open up a separate page for Preacher God and hyperlink it etc so I can keep the canon stuff on comicvine's wiki and the non-canon stuff with Vampires etc separate??

@fesak: Here is my list

To do list:

1. Make the wiki perfect.

2. Refer to #1.

Maybe that will help?

@Charlie_Jade: Watch the swearing please. Also feel free to edit it, as fesak is working on it, I would stick to his format that he has going and not touch any of the text that is there already.

#29 Posted by Charlie_Jade (523 posts) - - Show Bio

submitted, damn that was difficult to write

#30 Posted by Charlie_Jade (523 posts) - - Show Bio

Yo Shatterstar you rejected my submission. Your 'plagiarism' accusation is BS,

almost all of the article I wrote myself, personally. The only thing I didn't write was that Vertigo Preacher crap, and I copyandpasted that stuff only because I felt the person who originally wrote the PreacherGod article put in a lot of work.

You have rejected my article for false reasons

Fix this Shatterstar

#31 Posted by worldbreakerhulk (237 posts) - - Show Bio

@Charlie_Jade: completely agreed. that kind of entry is bullshit. everyone know that true all mighty God can not die! they have mixed up all comic versions of "gods" and biblical God! there must be God's profile separated from other's in comicvine.
