Hercules and Gilgamesh briefly saw each other at a distance in ancient Greece after Gilgamesh helped Hercules by cleaning the Augean Stables for him. The two met a least one other time, again in the distant past, when Zeus, at the behest of the Asgardian monarch Odin, lead the Olympian Gods in an invasion of Olympia and war against it's inhabitants; the Eternals. During this war, Hercules and Gilgamesh (then calling himself 'Hero') battled as was fitting as each was the strongest and mightiest warrior of their respective realms. The battle was inconclusive and the war ended before either could claim victory over the other. Since that time Hercules and Gilgamesh have been shown to be rivals in strength, fighting skills and heroism as they expressed a bit of one-upsmanship over each other when both were selected as suitable mates by Kismet.
