Last issue left Ghost Rider and Sheriff O'Connor in a mildly interesting situation. This story arc had been the most interesting thing done with Jack O'Lantern in years, and it was also Daniel Way's best work on Ghost Rider so far (which isn't saying much). So what happens? That mildly interesting situation is defused within the first two pages of the comic book, and the rest of the story reads like uninspired drivel.
We actually had a somewhat interesting supporting character in Harry O'Connor, but nothing is done with it for the conclusion. Why should something be done with the character anyways? There's nothing even mildly interesting that's been done with Johnny Blaze since this series has been launched, and even less with Ghost Rider. There is absolutely nothing that happens in this comic book that would make you want to buy the next one. That is no exaggeration. It seems that Daniel Way is satisfied in just making Ghost Rider fight whoever Lucifer has embodied for each issue and doesn't seem to want to write anything more then that. Someone should beg and plead with Garth Ennis to write this series. Sure Ennis' Ghost Rider isn't the best ever, but it's better then what we are currently getting.
The artwork isn't half bad, but I'd have to say that the best thing about the entire issue is the cover by Arthur Suydam.
