Geralt was born in Rivia,he is the son of a sorceress called Visenna and a warrior called Korin. After birth he was taken by his mother to Kaer Morhen the witcher stronghold.There he underwent the Trial of Grass and suffered many mutations which gave him superhuman abilities.

In the Polish movie Wiedzmin (2001) and the following TV series (2002) Geralt of Rivia is played by Michal Zebrovski.
