Having played a role in Lady Death's classic series The Crucible Genocide has gone on to appear in several Chaos Comics story arcs but it wasn't until The Omen and Armageddon that he had a major role once again.

His mate is Antigone and they have a child, or First Blood, named Vex.

The Crucible

Genocide attacks Asgard and kills Odin and rising from his corpse he takes his arm as a symbol of power but it is not the power he was looking for and leaves Genocide has returned many times but always leaves without what he is looking for. Vandala explains that Genocide is the embodiment of chaos and while suppressed for eons he has returned to smash the universe back into chaos once more. Elsewhere Genocide and his bride Antigone watch, he is pleased that Lady Death has arrived as savior of Asgard and now is his time to move. Antigone is concerned with how plotting her husband has become and that is not the way of chaos. Vex their first born is called and sent on an unspecified mission.

On Wraithworld Genocide is raising towers he names Hammers and still Antigone bemoans his new found passion for creation. Genocide tells her it is sacrifice that is necessary in order to bring about the chaos of destruction. He calls for Vex and banishes her to the underhives for eternity. Antigone again confronts him saying that following orders is not chaos and again he punishes the girl for being chaotic.

Vex is in mourning as she is imprisoned for her failures. At Genocide's Hammers the Scarboil clan, the mischievous creatures that raided the endless graveyard in The Crucible 1/2, are installing an object. The Chaos Talisman is installed at the apex of all 8 towers and crackles with energy. Genocide tells them the idea came to him when he read Lady Death's mind all those years ago and that Asgard is the key to its success.

Genocide's plan is coming to fruition and he orders the Scarboil to spread the word of the universe impending doom via the Nexus.

He Imprisons Lady Death and the Valkyries in the base of the Hammer towers and appears in the middle of the chamber, his tentacles wrap around each of them. The chambers sides split so each is laying face up on a spike of wall facing the chaos talisman. Directly in line from them through the talisman is the Nexus with Bedlam trapped inside.

Vex leads an army up from the pit. She accuses her father of order and planned action, citing his measured attack and the Doom Magistrates hear her words and follow her to unmake her father. Antigone questions Genocide on his motives once more and is now certain he is a slave to order.

She teleports to Asgard and speaks with Frigga who informs her that Chaos underlies everything in the universe while Genocide merely wants to destroy it. She explains that Odin once told her that the universe expands and then contracts. during the last contraction some gods believed that was the normal state and Genocide has lied to them. He wants nothingness. If she wants to put an end to this plan she needs to deliver Nightmare to Lady Death. Antigone grabs Brock's hand and teleports.

Vex brings her fallen magistrates to the tower and sets them on Genocide, Antigone hurls Brock towards Lady Death just before Genocide destroys her. Brock hands over the weapon but a blast cuts his thumb off dropping the sword. Vex dives for it as Lady death tells her to give Nightmare to her. Vex is banished by Genocide and he mysteriously turns to solid stone. the towers base collapses freeing the Valkyrie. Lady Death survives the fall unscathed only for a spike to erupt out of her left shoulder and start moving her skyward. Brilliant energy flows from her wounds and Vulnavia orders the Valkyrie to give into battle lust, the reverse of her strategy before she met Lady Death, and kills the magistrates around the tower and lift Lady Death off the spike. As their Odin power grows in response to battle lust it fuels the machine, just as Genocide wanted.

Brock emerges from the rubble and finds Nightmare on the ground as he reaches for the blade a massively taller genocide erupts from the tower basking in the glory of his plan coming together. Tyr appears and falls deliberately onto the Chaos Talisman. The blast lances into space, but the course was altered by Tyr's body, destroying the sun .

Genocide strides away and as the dust clears Brock brings nightmare to Lady Death. With the sun destroyed its only a matter of time before this place is in ruins. Lady Death caches up to Genocide who is now so tall she is barely half the height of his head. She taunts him, blasting his legs with angelic energy. He replies with a massive fireball that does nothing to her. Genocide stomps on her puny form but her power is such that she shatters his legs and as he crumbles and falls the pieces become yet more magistrates. Vulnavia follows Lady Death into the gaping maw of a mouth that's opened in the planets surface. Inside she uses Nightmare to smash out his right eye from the inside and as they exit the wounded beast grabs her, determined to take her down with him.

Vulnavia is increasingly concerned for the sanity of her half-sister but she and Vandala convince her to leave with them now. She agrees but cant resist shattering the remains of Genocide with her sword and energy.
