GeNext: United #5

So I just finished reading this issue, (as opposed to actually working! LOL) and I have to say I was VERY pleased with this mini-series! When I started reading the series, I had made the mistake of NOT reading Claremont's original GeNEXT story arc, so as you can image, that created plenty of confusion for me. But as I kept reading (and after I found & read the the first arc) I started really getting into the story. I love what Claremont has done here; by having the characters age in real time, and shifting the focus to the children (and in a few cases grandchildren) of the classic X-Men.  I feel like Claremont has created a great story here, and especially in the last couple issues, I found it very enthralling. i would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Claremont's work, or to anyone who likes the X-Men but wants something a little more... fresh!

  I wanna start by saying I LOVE Jonboy Meyers' style, and his treatment of the characters. I liked what  Patrick Scherberger did in the first series, but i feel like Meyers really improved on the look of this series, and the way he handled the action sequences was fantastic (though in a few place it got a little too clustered, and it was hard to follow). I eagerly look forward to Meyers' next project!

Personally, I would love to read more about these characters, and keep following them as they continue to grow as heroes, and Claremont has left this open for more. My hope is that Claremont and Meyers will continue with this storyline. Whether or not it will actually happen has yet to be seen, and I honestly have my doubts. But I will remain hopeful, because GeNEXT United was a very enjoyable and fresh series, that I undoubtedly try to convince my friends to read! LOL
