Give Penance!
To start off, Jubilee and Synch are two of my favorite Gen Xers. They are two of a kind. They give the story humor and a realism touch. Scott Lobdell, one of my favorite writers, is fantastic at characterization. In this story, we see friendship and a blending of relationships. Jubilee and Synch have been close friends from the start. We see Jubilee's frustration with Gateway, as he was responsible for her membership with the X-Men. She wants answers as to why he brought Penance to Generation X's doorstep. Knowing her past, Banshee lets Emma Frost know that if she ever plays mind games with him, it will be her last mistake. Emma is on M's case due to M's mysteriousness and that she knows everything and seems to be one step ahead of everybody else. Like that M knows about Emplate, a villain that has never made an appearance in till now. Husk and Skin are playing scrable and using offensive words. (They are really just flirting.)
Penance breaks free and the team tries to bring her back.
Emma Frost is seemingly triyng to manipulate M.
Also, a villain will soon make an appearance, one that done evil deeds in awhile.
Another great issue by Scott Lobdell and Chris Bachalo.
