Surprisingly Good.
I have to say I didn't had my hopes on for this series, but this first issue made me change my mind.
The Good:
I wasn't sure up to now for the looks of the "Lights" but this book helped me to understand what is the purpose of each one of these new characters. The art was good, pretty consistent through the issue, it had faults but nothing to drive you off. The story was lacking, but it was compensated with characterization. Each of the new "lights" got some spotlight panels to show each of their thoughts about what is being a mutant and an X-Men, I specially liked the Idie and Gabriel parts. Finally the last light and villain of the book, I have to say that the concept art for me was lame for a lack of a better word, but when you got to see him in action in the book, it comes not as you think it would, it's actually enjoyable. It might lead to something good if it's written well in the coming issues.
The Bad:
The first thing I have to say is that I'm still having problems with is Idie looks, they are just not right for some reason. Don't get me wrong, they are good, but a little off. Other thing I might have complaints with is this Teon character, he needs a purpose and a better build of character or he will get boring real fast. Another thing I found a little disturbing is how the four mutants just obey and follows Hope, I know she helped them but still.
The Verdict:
This is a very good book if you are looking for something new and fresh. Both the writing and the art will help you go through a new experience you might just find appealing. As I said I bought this hoping nothing and finding something. So I recommend it, either if you're an X-Men fan or not, probably more enjoyable for not X-Fans. Either way is a good consistent and unexpected book.
