Megan Fox might be dying to play Fathom one day, but Aspen Matthews isn’t the only comics character she’s got her eye on. Fox News, of all places, got a statement out of her while she was on the red carpet for JONAH HEX’s premiere last week where she expressed interest in portraying GEN 13’s Rainmaker. This certainly runs in line with what she’s been saying to MTV for a while about being a big fan of the Wildstorm series.

So spoke Ms. Fox…

“I don’t want people to protest this, but I would like to be Rainmaker in GEN 13 if they ever made that into a movie. She’s a Native American and I have a little bit of that blood in me. It would be a bit of a stretch – but if Jake Gyllenhaal can be the Prince of Persia, I think that I can do that.”

I’m not sure if there’s ever been a GEN 13 movie in development at any point, so I figure this is more of an idle wish on her part than a hint of anything substantial going on. Believe it or not, though, there actually was a GEN 13 animated feature produced in ’99 that featured Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea as Grunge and Mark “ The Joker” Hamill as Threshold. It was completed right before Wildstorm was acquired by DC and ended up going unreleased in America (although it had a small video release in Europe and Australia.) Incidentally, the toon’s line-up didn’t include Rainmaker. == TEASER ==

As far as live action movies go, I don’t know if GEN13 has as much of a hook for mainstream audiences as other Wildstorm titles like WILDCATS, STORMWATCH or THE AUTHORITY have. The central premise is that these kids are the 13 generation of government-engineered superfolk, but I figure that's ground that’s going to seem already-tread by the X-MEN movies (or soon-to-be-tread by the RUNAWAYS flick) in movie-goers' eyes. What seems to be getting the most attention out of this from Fox News is the fact that Rainmaker’s openly bisexual.

Anyway, I’m sure we’ve got some GEN 13 fans here in the community. If we gave you the power, how would you make a movie about them? Would you cast Fox as Rainmaker?

Eh, sounds tolerable. She did decent as Talullah Black in Jonah Hex.

She needs to ugly up for her next role so men won't be distracted by her dsl and see how terrible and sloppy her acting is. 

Firstly no. She might have sex appeal, and as alot of you are saying, she is losing that quick especially with the amount of work she is having done.
Secondly, she isn't an award winning actress and never will be, since that's the trend I've seen appearing recently.....well she isn't a great actor even, a very mediocre one. She should just stick with the sexy appeal and then try acting classes or theatre (so we don;t have to see her on here anymore) lol

She can suck it. Stop giving that talentless hack work.

There is just one really huge thing wrong with her playing Rainmaker.  Rainmaker is Native American, Fox is not.

I haven't read Gen13 in 12 years.  Does everyone's costumes still get blown to bits except for covering the naughty parts? 
 
I am apathetic of a Gen 13 movie.  Will see it on FX though.

I think she's a good actress and not because of her looks she's truthfully not that bad and although she is getting less and less hot but you know what put her in the movies and if she does a good job then let her be in more but if she does a terrible job then forget about her ever wanting to be in comic based movies or anything in the action category so if she is cast for the character then okay we'll see how she does

Quick let’s start a petition to keep Megan Fox out of movies.

Let’s be honest here, kids, this is GEN 13 we’re talking about here, not Sandman. It’s at best goofy fun. It was made at a time when everything had to look over the top and sexy to sell units, the stimulation people got reading it was far from mental. I don’t think it would be a crime against comics if a pretty actress with a limited range got cast, because let’s face it: IT’S GEN 13!

That being said, I don’t have issues with Megan Fox, personally. Actually I quite enjoy her, actually. Will she be winning any serious acting awards any time soon? Probably not. Does she deserve all the hostility for being pretty, popular and employed? No.

As for being in this movie, they could do a worse, but I still think she’d be a better fit as Cassie Hack than Rainmaker.

how tha hell does she keep getting mentioned for roles in our comic book movies? she's a horrible actress. so many people think she looks so good blah blah blah, i dont, and they get so hung up on her bending over or somethin that they cant see her for tha disaster she is. i dont know much about gen 13, but if one were made, i would go see it like alot of other comic book movies, and i know she wouldnt add to it positively. like some of u have already said....

People just suddenly have this impression of Megan Fox being terrible, just because she's sexy and attractive, people seem to think she's useless. God, give her a chance. So what if she's not the best actress in the world, she's certainly not 'bad' , by all means. Watch Jennifer's Body, I think she was excellent in that movie, really memorable and she was quite good in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and the sitcom Hope & Faith. Yes, most of her not-so-memorable works are better. So please don't make judgements based on others, don't be a sheep. No one likes a sheep.

As someone who is a huge Gen13 fan, and owns all the comics, from the original miniseries, all the way through to the current series, I can't voice my opposition to this strongly enough. Rainmaker's character is well beyond the scope of Megan's acting ability (I have seen a good deal of her work). I would not see a Gen13 movie with Megan Fox as Rainmaker, and again, I am a HUGE Gen13 fan. Luckily, this would never happen anyway.
