    Origin

Gammenon the Gatherer is a member of the mysterious and powerful Celestials, a race of giant humanoid cosmic beings, each standing in at approximately 2000 feet and clad in what appears to be some sort of armored shell. Each Celestial possesses incalculable levels of cosmic power. The mysterious space giants often travel the cosmos visiting and affecting planets. The Celestials have visited the Earth on many occasions to influence or alter the course of Earths species developments. During what is known as the First Host the Celestials which happened approximately one million years, the Celestials created two subspecies from the early primitive hominoids that were present on Earth at the time, these two subspecies being the Deviants and the Eternals. Various Celestials seem assigned to certain tasks whether observation, analyzation, surveying or pass judgment on Earth itself and its species. Gammenon the Gatherer is himself tasked with gathering various fauna and flora samples and specimens for testing analysis and experimentation. The Celestial Gammenon will often employ a specialized Gathering Rod that measures up to 1,250 feet to aid him in his tasks. Typically upon completion of his work, Gammenon the Gatherer will pass on his findings to the Celestial Jemiah the Analyzer, for him to expand on. Gammenon the Gatherer will also often work closely with the Celestial Eson the Searcher. Gammenon is typically distinguished from his fellow Celestials in that he is clad in a golden yellow hued armored shell and carries a large rod.

    Creation

Gammenon the Gatherer is a Marvel comics book character created by writer artist Jack Kirby first appearing in The Eternals #4 released in 1976. The Celestials first appear in The Eternals #2, and as a concept were created by Jack Kirby. They bear some semblance to Erich von Däniken ideas of giant space gods whose tampering with humanity lead to biological and technological advancement. Speaking about his own creations "The Celestials looked human, didn’t they? They had human form. Underneath those helmets was a human being - a celestial human being, someone godlike in our eyes because of the things he could do that we couldn’t."
