Taylor Kitsch Excited About Gambit

Last week Taylor Kitsch talked to Rotten Tomatoes at Cannes about Gambit and his future.  Kitsch will be appearing in "The Bang Bang Club" with Ryan Phillippe and Malin Akerman.  He's expressed excitement over playing Gambit but was unaware that a sequel to Wolverine Origins was already mentioned.
"Man, good on Hugh for doing that to his body again," he laughed as we told him about the film. "I hadn't heard that was going to happen! You have my brain going now about what I'd love to do with Gambit!"

Hmmm...that doesn't sound too good for Kitsch, the fact that he didn't know it was going to happen.  It's great that he's excited about playing Gambit.  He should be.  We know that Gambit is a cool character that hasn't really been properly used lately.  It seems that Kitsch is already thinking about the things he could do with the role.
I want to go deep into Gambit.  He has so many more colours to explore. I want to go dark with that cat. There are so many things I want people to see of him and he really is his own deal.

The problem with this is, there hasn't been any word of a Gambit movie.  It also appears that Wolverine's next adventure will be in Japan.  I'm not sure if there'd be any room or reason for Gambit to be there.  We've already seen the announcement that there will be a Deadpool movie.  With Kitsch not knowing about the sequel to Wolverine, Gambit's (immediate) future doesn't look too great.

Do you think Gambit could carry his own movie?  We do have the Thieves Guild that could be explored or maybe his time with Storm.  Also, since he helped Wolverine towards the end of the movie, do you think there's any room for Gambit in the Wolverine sequel?

I have mixed feelings about a Gambit solo movie.

I think if Marvel Studios worked hard on a decent scrift for a Gambit film it could work... but I do fear that a Gambit film could be depraved of the script needed to make a decent movie due to all of the other Major Marvel Releases that they are expecting to show in the future years...

I don't think Gambit could pull in a big enough crowd on his own

I dont think he could or would either. They (meaning the studio/producers) would have to sell the audience on the story more so then the name "Gambit" If they did a movie about the Thieves Guild in which it showed the war with the Assassins Guild then I could see non traditional fans getting excited for a Gambit movie.

Blade wasn't a big-known-comic"hero"... And yet that film was massively successful.. I think if the character can be written well, with an awesome plot.. It could be great.

Like I said in my comment in Gambit's page,  if there were a film, it should be him meeting Sinister, getting the Marauders together, and have the film take place during the Mutant Massacre.

As for him in a Wolverine sequel, as much as I am a fan of Gambit,  I don't see him in Japan.  Unless, the film featured  one part of the story in Madripoor with Gambit working as a thief for General Coy.  He screws the general over which leads him to fight Bloodscream and Roughouse.  This puts Wolverine in a fight with Gambit against both of them.  Maybe after the closing credits there is a scene where he runs into Victor Creed and in the end asks in to join the Marauders and introduces him to Mr. Sinister. (Played by Gary Oldman.)  Just a thought.

They gave Blade a well known actor.

Taylor Kitsch isn't exactly that known

He is now...
And as great as 'Demolition Man' was.. I imagine if anyone remembers Snipes, it's going to be for Blade..

And maybe 'White Men Can't Jump'

That's true, Blade wasn't well known. But I don't believe Blade the character is what sold the movie. Anything Vampire related usually does well.

For god's sake, can't this kid get it through his thick cranium that he sucked as Gambit? No suave, no talk, bad accent, and horrible make-up. Please, no more live action, Gambit.

X-Men Origins Gambit now that would be a good movie to go see and I thought Taylor Kitsch did a great job as Gambit.

Okay you cant complain about the accent, because doesnt Logan have a sort of accent, not showed in the movies, Rogues and Storms accent were also not used.

Elektra wasn't a big draw because DARE DEVIL wasn't a big draw.  They took an average ranking movie and made a spin-off for a lesser character.  Shame.

He's going to fail as Gumbo, wait, my apologies, he already did. Frankly, I don't think he'll be abel to pull it off if the Guild was chosen for introduction, or Sinister, or anyone else for that matter.

Epic fail.
