The mission is a Cich
Corny titles aside, let's get to it. I like this series so far. To some it has been fun and refreshing, to others it has been a bit lackluster. So I have good things to say.
Good: Asmus gets Gambit. He gets the character's dialogue. He gets his personality, he gets his charm, he gets his powers (for the most part) and has been a little unique with them like lighting up the bacteria to get the password. The issue this time had all around solid dialogue, good character interactions and the end got me as I didn't know how Gambit was gonna survive. I knew he wasn't gonna die, but I didn't expect Cich to "save him". Anyways, aside from that, the art was good. I think Neves does a good Gambit and I'm so glad he is out of the purple armor for a change. I still prefer Mann and Kirk over Neves though. I had to adjust to Mann's art in the first few issues but I grew to love it. I have no complaints about Neves taking over for a bit and I see some details even seeming similar to each other. Either way, they both compliment the book. I like the lighter and more adventurous tone of the book and I find it refreshing compared to everything else in the X-verse. And I love some of the humor scenes in the book too. Not too much and they mingle well.
Bad: I can't really find anything bad about the issue so far, I liked it and I want to see where this goes. It wasn't an amazing issue but solid with no complaints except Gambit has been charging organic matter now for a few years. Daken's arm and exploding reptiles anyone?
Recommended: If you are a Gambit fan, then I would recommend the series and this issue.
