Galactus
Character » Galactus appears in 1750 issues.
Galactus is the infamous "Devourer of Worlds" in the Marvel Universe. His powers are nearly omnipotent. He has appointed several entities as his Heralds, imbuing them with the Power Cosmic. He uses energy from the core of planets and universal sources to sustain himself.
Marvel Says It's Time To Save The World
Things aren't looking too good for Galactus...or are they? Marvel has released the image above. What does this mean for Galactus and is that an Infinity Gem or two I see? The reason I say things aren't looking too good is there was an image from the upcoming issue of Fantastic Four that made its way online just recently.
What does it mean if Galactus dies? It was believed that Galactus serves a vital role in the universe. It was even said that he was the balance between the forces of Death and Eternity. Galactus has seemingly died before. Has his time finally come to an end? Could it be that Galactus needs to be revived in order to "save the world"?
We haven't seen too much of the Infinity Gems lately. Could they play a part in bringing back a deceased Galactus? (The powers of the gems include Soul, Power, Space, Reality, Time and Mind).
Could this have something to do with the question of whether or not the FF will survive 2010? This is just another reason you should be reading Hickman and Eaglesham's run on Fantastic Four.
Yes!! More people NEED to read Fantastic Four! Especially to know what the heck is going to happen to Galactus.
It feels like this is going to be the year for the Fantastic Four. I'm excited!
" wasn't it established if he dies Abraxas takes his place? "If Galactus dies then Abraxas is freed from my understanding.
It has been but we don't know how the writers are going to go about this, whether they're going to ignore what's been established previously with Abraxas or not. Either way I'm excited. I haven't seen much of Galactus lately since I've only been sticking to Fantastic Four and the last I remember him in the book was when McDuffie was writing it. Curious to see how they go about this all.
Not that I don't like people reading the Fantastic Four (or any great comic that Marvel hasn't forced the 3.99 price yet) but the first teaser I would say probably has to do with Hickman's third project. "The SHIELD" miniseries in which he reimagines SHIELD as a secret organization that through history has saved the world with such members as Leonardo Da Vinci and Reed Richard's father
" @Nighthunter: Ohh the first image makes sense though. And if he chooses to introduce that idea into the FF it all works out especially since the team has an indirect link to the "secret history" of SHIELD through Nathaniel Richards, assuming he's heading down that road. "yeah, I think its fair to assume that Hickman will be connecting all of his 3 projects together in some way or form. Better for me as I'm a huge fan
" Sounds like this is going to change the marvel universe forever. "until the next mega epic years in the making event that will later change it again!
.....which will probably come like 4 months after this one
"Marvel says it's time to save the world"
You have no idea how long I've waited to hear those words... Just wait a minute... Were'd I put my cape and gun?
" @pixelized said:You naive fool! All of these events in a row ARE the big event!" Sounds like this is going to change the marvel universe forever. "until the next mega epic years in the making event that will later change it again! .....which will probably come like 4 months after this one "
/terrible joke.
If Hickman writes it, I'll read it, that's how much respect for his work that he has gained from me over the last year or so, Secret Warriors and Fantastic Four are two of the best books going right now on the Marvel side of the house, heck, I didn't even like the Fantastic Four before he took over, now it's one of the books I look forward to the most each month.
" @aztek the lost said:Nope, if Galactus dies Abraxas is freed and brings Chaos and Destruction throughout the multiverse." wasn't it established if he dies Abraxas takes his place? "That's what I'm thinking. Getting a deja vu vibe here... "
" @geraldthesloth said:If the void is left unfilled that's what brings Abraxas..they don't exactly do the same thing..Galactus feeds to keep overpopulation and his energy full Abraxas destroys realities...well because he wants to." @AtPhantom said:I didn't mean like, takes his position, I meant he fills the void that Galactus' death leaves behind, as in awakes/freed, whatever you want to call it "" @aztek the lost said:Nope, if Galactus dies Abraxas is freed and brings Chaos and Destruction throughout the multiverse. "" wasn't it established if he dies Abraxas takes his place? "That's what I'm thinking. Getting a deja vu vibe here... "
I dont think i will be picking up the FF.
But maybe I will JUST for this...
But im not planning on it...
This may have something to do with the Old Power, which Galactus may be addicted to now (from Son of Hulk). Supposedly, he cannot consume any more Old Power or he will die. That's what makes this interesting:
Hail Galactus, Herald to the Son of the Hulk?! As the SON OF HULK, Hiro-Kala, sets loose a chain of events that forever alters Jarella's World and threatens the entire sub-atomic Microverse, a vision reveals his future metamorphosis into a god-like being, with an enslaved Galactus at his control! (only part of the solicit)
This is due out on March 3, 2010. Could Galactus become killed because of these events? Since it is a Realm of Kings tie in, do the heroes of Earth need Galactus to help if the Fault starts expanding again? I somehow think that they aren't going to do the whole Abraxas thing again. Maybe that's how it all ties in together. I could be wrong (and often am).
if its F4 not likely the covers almost always show one thing but lead to another.
Doom, Sue and Uatu have all died at first according to that book, but actually didnt.
i dunno, looks like Galactus: The Other ?
"That skull belongs to Thanos or a Skrull!!! Look at the chin!!!!!! "
those are just the bottom of it's teeth...everyone has those....it's a regular human shaped skull
my guess is that since this is talking about Galactus that the silver skull belongs to the Silver Surfer
" @spiderpigbart said:agreed, though since Surfers skull shouldnt be (could just be an artistic representation, most likely)"That skull belongs to Thanos or a Skrull!!! Look at the chin!!!!!! im leaving the small chance open that its Wolverines from Fantastic Force, since those characters popped up again
in F4.
" Ok i'm pretty much thinking this is separate. One for fantastic 4 the other for some teaser i saw at marvel once. notice the Galactus in the background "see? Its the SHIELD

they didn't pop up "again" in F4, they popped up again in Fantastic Force
"who's skull is that. "
It looks very Silver to me.
