In the comics:
While Funboy and the rest of T-Bird's crew did kill Eric Draven, and rape and kill Shelly Webster, they were not acting under anyones orders, it was just a random act of crime they committed while high on drugs.

In the movie:
Funboy was not only one of the killers of Eric and Shelly, but also the boyfriend of Sarah's junky mother, Darla
