We just can't get enough LEGO around here. Last month we looked at a couple Lord of the Rings sets: Gandalf Arrives and Shelob Attacks. With the first Hobbit movie getting closer, why not take a look at another set, Attack on Weathertop?
You can see that this set contains 430 pieces. I still don't agree with the age limit of 8-14. Lego can't tell me I'm too old to build this!
Because this is a bigger set, that means you get more Lego figures! Included here is Frodo, Merry, Aragorn and a couple Ringwraiths.
This is what the contents of the box looks like:
The instruction booklet is pretty hefty. If you're a Comic Vine Premium Member, you can check out the behind-the-scenes building of this set HERE. You can get an idea what it's like to build this set along with a couple pointers in building Lego in general.
== TEASER ==As for the final product, check it out.
Even Hobbits need to eat. This might not be the best location to have a little cookout but when you're hungry, you're hungry.
The detail and design of this set is pretty cool. I really dig the stairs and layout of it all.
At the top, there's a trapdoor. You pull the brown lever and down falls the poor victim. (You can see it in action in the subscriber video).
It's cool how the playset opens up to give more options when actually playing with it.
Here comes the Ringwraiths!
But since this is called "Attack on Weathertop," perhaps we should set the stage for the attack.
Each figure (except the Ringwraiths) come with two different faces. Here's what they look like.
This was a fun set to build. Clearly there is both display and play value to this set.
That's it for this week. Be sure to look for the next installment to see what collectible gets featured.
