Jason on the Killing spree
With Friday the 13th as a huge success, fans were going crazy for the sequel when they realized that they were making a new one that had Jason as the killer. But unlike the first one and the other ones that had Jason as an indestructable zombie, after seeing the movie, many fans found themselves upset. Basically, during the time when this movie came out, there were many movies that tried the slasher movie routine, some nutjob going around killing dips*** teenagers, it got old really quick, I could be wrong on this, but it does make sense though. Anyways, if you dont know already, Jason is the main killer in this movie, collecting whats left of his mother and hiding out in some craphouse in the middle of nowhere, he starts his killing spree by avenging for his mothers death and continue killing other stupid teenagers as they reopen Camp Crystal Lake. As many people who know Jason as the walking powerhouse zombie, you'll notice how different and more human he is in this one. Jason is played by two actors in the film, the one who played as Jason in the burly sack basically got injured alot during the film, which is why they had to change Jasons mask in the third film, which was much better by the way. I wouldn't call Friday the 13th a good film, as for me it's the worst one yet.
Now seeing that im reviewing this movie, im going to try by looking at it as a slasher film.
The Good:
1. It still has the slasher genre, so if your a huge fan for slasher films you would like this one.
2. When you see where Jason lives, its probably the most creepiest part of the movie.
The Bad:
1. Jason is more floppy and clumsy in this one, basically you'll see him more as a pushover.
2. Slightly different from the Jason we know now and from the first.
Conclusion:
If your collecting the Friday the 13th movies or franchise, then this movie would be great for your collection. It has a different view of Jason, but it still keeps the slasher routine. But for me, it is the worst one of the Jason series.
