Great issue!
I really love Freedom Fighters. I loved this team way back when(1940s-70s). The story in this issue begins a little stale but as it reaches the end things heat up and I really can't wait to see what happens in issue #2. The art in this book looks great, I love all the covers and obviously Travis Moore did an excellent job with the interior. I REALLY liked the page 2 and 3 as it was an old school double page spread; GREAT JOB. My only problem with this issue is that the average 13-26 year old that is reading this issue won't have ANY FREAKING IDEA WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE! Why didn't they at the VERY least have a sound off call, like they do in most other team books with familiar heroes. Although this would be a cheesy thing to do; in this case it would have helped anyone, who was unfamiliar with this team and was just checking it out.
Issue #2 looks like it will be MUCH better than this issue. But as the fight in the beginning of the issue was SO cool and the art is SO GOOD. I'm giving Freedom Fighters #1 a 4.0 pass. But issue #2, better blow me away or it's getting a lower score.
