The first Saturday of May, every year, is Free Comic Book Day, where participating comic shops, as well as libraries and a few other places, offer free comic books to people who show up. That's pretty dang awesome, isn't it? This year, Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is happening on Saturday, May 2nd.
In order to encourage fans to participate this year, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker, The Joker, The Trickster, our hero growing up) made a video promoting the upcoming event. Check it out.
Here's some facts about FCBD:
· Over 2,300 comic shops are participating across the country and around the world
· Over 5.6 million comics will be given out for free
· There are 50 free titles available to choose from
· Comic shops also host special events for communities to take part in
· FCBD is a great opportunity for those who have never read a comic before to check them out for free
· FCBD is a family-friendly event as there are comics for readers of all ages available for free
